Trike-A-Thon for Cancer
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — A few riders may have gotten some points on their license but it was all for a good cause. On My Way Childcare in Middletown held their Trike-A-Thon Sunday.
Kids learn bike safety and the rules of the road while riding around on their own track. The riders got sponsors to participate with all money going to the Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, but there was also a price to pay if they went to fast.
“And get tickets from the police officers that are here if they don’t follow their bike safety rules. So it’s a great learning experience for the children. It’s wonderful that their understanding giving back to the community,” said Peggy Fuentes, On My Way Childcare owner.
The event raised well over $4,000 for childhood cancer research.
